Candidate Information for Caucus

We will not have candidate tables at Caucus.

We will allow a one (1) minute candidate/surrogate speech at the Caucus.

Candidates are encouraged include a flyer/literature in the precinct packets. Candidates can provide the flyers via email vicechair@pueblodemocrats.org or by dropping about 155 copies to our Pueblo Dem HQ (602 W. 9th Street, Pueblo, CO 81003). The deadline to provide literature for the precinct packets is one week prior (Sat. Feb 28th) to our caucus on March 7th. We ask that the provided lit not exceed the size of a normal page (8.5 x11 inches).

Candidates who are not moving through caucus and assembly may attend caucus, if they so choose, but speaking slots and participation at any point of the agenda is restricted to candidates participating in the caucus and assembly process.

Ballot access petitions will not be allowed to be circulated at caucus and assembly events.

Candidate Information for Assembly
Pueblo County Assembly will take Place at Centennial High School, 2525 Mountview Dr, Pueblo, CO 81008 from 8am-4:30pm. Individuals can find Pueblo County Assembly information at https://www.pueblodemocrats.com/assembly.

The County Chair specified that guests and candidates for various races will have a maximum speaking time of five (5) minutes. Each candidate will have a maximum of 5 minutes including nomination, second and acceptance. If a candidate chooses to use a nominator and seconder, at least one of the two must be a delegate to the Assembly. At least one person must be a member of the County Central Committee for the purpose of Nominating and Seconding.

If unable to speak in person, we will allow three-minute videos at the county assembly. Reminder: statewide candidates don’t need to be nominated by the voting body.

Candidates may voluntarily withdraw from the assembly process in writing, to the chair of the assembly, at any time before the assembly is gaveled to order.
